Stereotypes
  Mortal and Mortal+:
"For if your snark be a boojum,
you will softly and suddenly vanish away,
never to be met with again.
"
- Lewis Carrol, "The Hunting Of the Snark"

  Werewolves:

"Whatever is begun in anger, ends in shame."
- Benjamin Franklin

  Mages:

"Never summon anything bigger than your head."
- Gamer's Adage

  Changelings:

Do not go gentle into that good night,

Old age should burn and rave at close of day;
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.

Though wise men at their end know dark is right,
Because their words had forked no lightning they
Do not go gentle into that good night.

Good men, the last wave by, crying how bright
Their frail deeds might have danced in a green bay,
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.

Wild men who caught and sang the sun in flight,
And learn, too late, they grieved it on its way,
Do not go gentle into that good night.

Grave men, near death, who see with blinding sight
Blind eyes could blaze like meteors and be gay,
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.

And you, my father, there on the sad height,
Curse, bless, me now with your fierce tears, I pray.
Do not go gentle into that good night.
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.

- Dylan Thomas

Disclaimer
My model of running role playing games can sometimes catch people unawares so I'm going to disclose it here. I believe you need three things for a good story in role playing:

  • First, you need to have a setting that's well considered, and an initial impulse to get the story moving - I provide that.
  • Second, you need an eye for plausibility, versimilitude -- events need to make sense within the agreed upon bounds of the story and good sense; if you punch someone in the face, they get angry (most of the time) - I provide this, but players are also responsible for some of it.
  • Third, you need players who are here to play their characters - and this is something you must bring me.

I will not promise you that you will find your character in the situations you imagined for them when you made them. I will not promise you that your characters will thrive here. What I promise you is that their lives in Detroit will not be boring as long as they do more than cower in the freehold or their apartments. I offer you an interesting place for your character to live an interesting life. Let's play.

RP Hooks

- Mortal -

  • Measure 2: Detroit's forced relocation plans are not going so smoothly, and what Measure 2 leaves behind is solidly dangerous territory.

- Mortal+ -

  • Gone Berserk: Detroit may be devoid of economic vitality, but the supernatural worlds have gone utterly haywire and that's bleeding over. All sorts of stuff is going off the rails around here.
  • The Hunters: Anywhere humans are prey, there's a chance for a hero. Just don't ask about the odds.

- Changeling -

  • The Dreaming's Roanoke: Chariot County once held no fewer than three baronies and two landed knighthoods, besides - plus a handful of commoner-controlled freeholds. Where did they all go?
  • In The Sixth Hour: Something or someone destroyed Chariot County. In its wake it has left a great fog of banality, thick enough to cut with a spoon. Thick enough to chill a faerie straight to the soul. The Fae Mein weakens in its presence, birthrights fade, chimera waste away. Left unchecked, such a force could threaten all of The Dreaming.

- Werewolf -

  • Against All Odds: The Sept of Pontiac's Secret is just a memory now, Gaia's warriors lay slain, or worse. If the world is to continue, this city must be retaken, but the enemy is well entrenched, and Gaia's warriors number so few...
