He grew up to a good, stable home off in Chicago, but he was never quite content. There were adventures out there in the world, secrets, wonders. His imagination fueled his escapades and kept him in trouble, and then he awoke into a world more wondrous and terrible then he ever imagined.

Now he's come to Detroit, a place that seems to suck the vital energy of imagination away -- why? Who knows. But he has come, and there's a fire inside him. He grew up finding causes, from civil rights for African Americans to gays to women to fighting against Islamaphobia, to the Occupy movement, to -- really, any cause at all.
