More than a mere suburb, Dearborn, Michigan is a city that punches above its weight. The western reaches of the city, along with surrounding Dearborn Heights, are quietly suburban and residential in character. They are indistinguishable from other bedroom communities of the Detroit metropolitian region. But the city's center has so much more.

The city center is old, and has Henry Ford's name all over it, being the city where he was born, lived, and died. He sponsored the seeds of cultural progress of Dearborn. So, alongside the museum complex, corporate headquarters, and college bearing his name, Ford's town boasts several other cultural, business, and educational institutions as well.

Dearborn's future is seen and heard all over in the eastern third of the city. Drive down Warren Avenue from Detroit into Dearborn, and the new character of the city is proudly on display. As two in five Dearborn residents claim Arab ancestry, and one in three speaks Arabic, Arab and Islamic culture are alive here. Mosques, markets, schools and most importantly, the people that make Dearborn home to the largest Muslim community in the US.
