Etheric Chronodyne
Etheric Chronodyne

Never underestimate the usefulness of a tricorder. Now with a updated OS and a touch screen interface, the modern Etheric Chronodyne functions like your grandpappy's - taking measurements of background dark energy (ether) fields and drawing inference from the patterns measured there. Where interpretation used to involve a slide rule and some on the fly imagination, complex calculations can now be performed behind the scenes, freeing your average Ethernaut to spend more type hypothesizing about the Fortean Phenomena in front of them.

Emma is using designs for a Mark 17b, courtesy of the hard work of Professor Victoria Rinaldi in the July, 2015 issue of Paradigma. Inspired by her mentor Dr. Vogel's work on Gravimetric Potentiation, she wrote a small program to take background scattering of etheric rays and use it to re-create the physical layout of unseen rooms and the presence of sentient beings in a high-tech version of the Marauder's Map. Unfortunately, her paper on the subject wasn't warmly received by the editors of Paradigma.
