WGM Park and Harbor
William G. Milliken State Park and Harbor
The park consists of the former city owned St. Aubin Park and Marina and an adjacent reclaimed brownfield. Much of the William G. Milliken State Park has been redeveloped as restoration wetlands, intended to mimic the riverine wetlands that once bordered the Detroit River. The riverwalk takes two paths through the park, one winds down its center, while the other fronts the river.
At one end of the park is Rivard Plaza which includes a carousel for children, an inlaid granite map of the Detroit River, a standing glass sculptured map of the St. Lawrence Seaway, a children's playscape, playful fountains and lush landscaping. At the other end is the 52-slip harbor and lighthouse. Parking is located across from the marina on Atwater Street.
