- Charles: I will tell you my best guesses for how people work.
- Emma: Dismissive. But I hope she still mistrusts systems of power. Maybe that will protect us.
- Jamila: I wonder if she's written me off?
- Jim, intern: Manages the life of a student despite working a dangerous second shift. Why this focus on vengeance?
- Kai: Part of her is younger than I thought.
- Maria: She'll be okay even if I get incapacitated. Oh god the sarcasm--makes me laugh, makes me cringe.
